"Jakob Flint is an out of luck war vet, with only one option: doing jobs for the local mob boss. When Flint decides to skim off the top, his family is killed and Flint is tortured. Just when his life is about to end, Flint kills his mob captors and their boss, but is arrested for murder. In jail, he reflects on a life gone bad when one day, he gets an unexpected pardon. Before he is back on the streets, a mysterious, sword carrying man named Elijah informs him he has been chosen for a mission from God: a search for a Mayan text which will end the world as we know it if it falls into the wrong hands.
